Exports and Trade Reserves
The
main export of the Tsovereign Commonwealth of Mu Draconis is well known to be
The Araxes Cinnamaldehyde mono-atomic Transition Metal Crystalline Spice, it is
a multi-trillion credit industry.
The
TCMD also has sizable exports of Enerogon, which we are the second largest
producer in the Geminga Sphere. Enerugon, also known as Energon and Arcybite
(by the Ferengi), is mined profitably in the
asteroid belt.
Sirillium,
known as Tibanna Gas in the Sky River Galaxy, is actually Helium-3, a valuable
and rare isotope of Helium, which is a useful fusionable fuel with a high
proton exhaust product which is invaluable for weapons and shields. It is also
valued as a plasma catalyst. The TCMD mines it from the mid-troposphere of the
Cryo-Gas Giant Yasvi, but also in the Rolor Nebula. The Rolor Nebula is one of
the two largest nebula with high sirillium content. The other is the Azure
Nebula on the other side of the Geminga Sphere near the Klingon border.
A
byproduct of the refining of The Spice is nano-dusts. Nano-dusts are tiny
particles composed of between 1 and 100 atoms. Because of the difference is the
surface area to volume, nano-dusts behave differently than their bulk versions.
Nano-dusts and nanoclusters are the scale where matter first exhibits the
non-intuitive realm of quantum physics, they behave almost as a distinct state
of matter. Nano-particles are primarily used in nano-facturing and in medicine.
Araxes
produces ultra high quality negative refraction index optical fibers, useful
for avoiding distortion and improved signal quality of cable relayed signals,
but also valuable for electromagnetic absorbers such as radar-microwave
absorbers. Also valued for computer components
that use photons instead of electricity.
Araxes
produces some of the highest quality solar cells, which even work from just
ultraviolet and infrared, and even have carnot heat exchangers to keep them in
the optimal temperature range. Solar Cell Films down to nanoscopic thicknesses
available. Solar nanofilms produce as much power as normal solar cells and are
close to their theoretical optimal efficiency, even though they weight 1000
times less. Negative refractive index lenses have no distortion, used as a
concentrator, said solar nanofilms efficiency can have efficiencies well above
the Shockley–Queisser Limit. Thin film heat exchangers kept the materials from
overheating and retaining excess heat so they always stay at their optimal
efficiency without degradation.

Torsion
Batteries. Using long chain carbon nanotubes, coiled like a spring, torsion
batteries are made with energy density higher than the best chemical batteries.
The best chemical batteries are 10 megajoules per kilogram. The energy density
up to 25 megajoules per kilogram is slightly less than petroleum. Torsion
batteries work essentially like old fashioned clocks. This is used for nano and
micro devices that are required to operate without electricity either to avoid
detection or to operate in an environment where the interference is a factor.
These so called clockwork nanobots and synsects are typically special use.
Ceramic clockwork synsects work in environments where metallic and
electromagnetic surveillance would be easily detected.
Lesser
industrial exports include Sandcaster Sand, various Uranium Ores, Duranium
(Depleted Uranium), Tungsten and Tyllium (trade name for fusionable isotopes of
Lithium which the Kobolian Battlestar people prefer for fuel). The Tungsten and
Tyllium are mined in the asteroids, the rest is from terrestrial extraction.
Microfiber
heat-exchangers woven into the cloth in Desertborn clothes and most densely in
their cloaks allows their heat signatures to blend into the surrounding
environment. Comfortable, fashionable,
and discrete.
Nanofibers
such as carbon bucky fibres have great elasticity, strength and even
superconducting properties which have great many uses. Other nanofibers such as
diamondoid (nanoassembled perfect crystalline diamonds), sapphiroid,
corundumoid, boronite, graphene, polybuckminsterfullerenes and other similar
materials are used in structural material giving them great strength and
resilience. Said nanofibers can be woven into a mesh to create planar materials
such as woven graphene mesh and elastic diamondoid fibre composites like
pandifico. Polybuckminsterfullerene is a nanofactured fullerene composite with
tensile strength close to the theoretical limits of molecular matter; a single
one millimetre strand can support several tons. The self-healing property of
polybuckminsterfullerenes is such that if the nanotubes inside a Polyfullerene
filament are broken, fullerene from the matrix heals them only causing a slight
lengthening.
One
of our popular retail exports is Araxes Spider Silk, from our Arachnid Dairies.
The spiders are fed carbon nanotube scraps (included with their food) which
further reinforces the silk. Available in spools of thread or as bolts of
cloth.
Populations
with copper based blood import the Araxes Arthropod Haemolymph, Haemocyanin and
Amebocytes which have medicinal applications for them. Amebocytes are
also used to make Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL), which is valued in medical
applications for the detection of bacterial endotoxins.
Tetrodotoxin is another major
medical export. A well known toxin, specifically a calcium channel blocker, it
has therapeutic uses in cancer treatment pain abatement, some types of
migraines, and even controlling opiate addition.
Araxes
Meat Beetles, Araxes Land Lobsters, Araxes Steak Spiders, Araxes Fat Widows,
and Araxes Sand Squids are available in some abundance, both as meat and whole
whole carcasses.
Fat
Widow Molotov Glands, Meat Beetle acid reservoirs, Steak Spider poison sacs,
Bat napalm-vesicles.
The
roe (eggs), larvae, haemolymph (blood) and carapace are also available in
limited quantities. Araxes Sand Squid ink also available in limited quantities.
High
altitudes, specifically low air pressure makes for higher quality coffee. The
steep volcanic slopes of the southern highlands and the frequent lightning
produces near ideal growing medium. Araxes grows outstanding coffee, with The
Spice naturally within it.
Spice
Tequila and Spice Mescal also have The Spice naturally within the Agave.
Spice
Beer (Splintered Rock Brand), has The Spice added during the fermentation
process.
Spice
Honey and Spice Mead. Wild Bees produce a wonderful honey with The Spice
naturally infused in it. It makes a fantastic mead, available only seasonally.

Our
shipyards have a growing business producing Antimatter Catalyzed Microfusion
Reactors (ACME), which uses nanoscopic quantities of antimatter to ignite a
fission implosion induced fusion reaction. It is economical and probably the
simplest fusion reactor to maintain. The ACME fusion pellets are liquid
deuterium and tritium (sometimes syrillium) encapsulated in a shell of depleted
uranium, sizes range from 30 grams. One nanogram of antimatter can induce up to
2 tons of the fusionable fuel. A little known fact, depleted Uranium (Duranium)
will undergo fission when it comes into contact with a sufficient (albeit
miniscule) quantity of antimatter.
While
the Tsovereign Commonwealth of Mu Draconis maintains stockpiles of certain
foreign trade goods.
The
TCMD has a growing industry of Rydberg State ultra-condensed Deuterium and
Helium-3, but also Rydberg State ultra-condensed Anti-Deuterium. 250 tons of
fuel per 2.5x2.5x2.5 container instead of the usual 2.25 tons per tank. Special
handling required. To maintain the Rydberg State, special containers are
required, which mass about 100 tons each, return deposit required.
Strategic Trade Reserves
While
The Spice is extremely valuable, it is not a universally accepted medium of
exchange. To that end, The Keeper of the Sands has taken it upon herself to
stock up MD’s Strategic Trade Reserves.
Fungible
commodities that are useful for exchange for other things the Tsovereign
Commonwealth of Mu Draconis might need, but who don’t have a market for The
Spice.
1.
Deuterium
Deuterium
is of near universal utility. Using a coherent atom laser, we have been able to
process the Deuterium into Rydberg State Ultra-Condensed Deuterium. While this
can be condensed a million to 1, but we are keeping the storage and shipment
easier, so our 2.5x2.5x2.5 meter container hold 250 Tons of Deuterium and the
magnetohydrodynamic high pressure chiller container weighs another 100 tons.
Just decompressing these releases about 4 tons TNT Equivalent per kilogram. We
usually let it out a gram at a time. This is 300 times the energy density of
petroleum, just in compression.

Antimatter.
Although
it is a much more delicate operation, we can store 250 Tons of ultra condensed
antimatter in the same 2.5x2.5x2.5 meter containers.

Sirillium
Sirillium
is a volatile element found in some rare nebula and even rarer gas giants. It
is the same as Tibanna Gas from Bespin. It is coincidentally Helium-3, which is
both very rare and very valuable. As a fusion fuel it is 4 times the energy
content of Deuteirum. It’s exhaust has no hot neutron, but lost of useful
protons which are useful for shields and weapons. The Sky River people use it
for their plasma blasters. It is also used in extreme refrigeration, such as
the Breen magnetohydrodynamic high pressure chiller containers we use to
contain our ultra-dense fuels.
Sirillium
is mined in the Rolor Nebula, a mere 20 LY from Araxes. The only other major
nebula source is the Azure Nebula, over by the Klingon Border who are nowhere
near as agreeable. We also extract Sirillium from the troposphere of Yasvi, the
giant cryojovian gas giant orbiting Mu Dracons Beta.
4.
Enerogon.
Enerogon
has several uses. First, it can be used as a ‘cold fusion’ fuel, which is to
say that it fuses at temperatures that will vaporize steel, but not as hot as
the sun like some other fusionables. It is also used as a combustible fuel for
nanobots and likewise. It also has properties which shield quantum decoherence
issues which are a big deal with quantum level technologies such as quantum
computers and tiny nanobots. It is a primary energy and shielding mechanism
used in programmable matter.
Energogon
is mined in the Araxes Asteroid Belt and to a lesser extend in the Near Araxes
meteoroid. The Ferengi have the largest supply in the Clarus Star System, about
6 LY away. They call it Archibyte. Whether we like it or not, they are the
largest player in the market for Enerogon.

Crystals are not fuel, but the means by which the ship can modulate the
matter/antimatter reaction. Dilithium looks like pink quarz cystals.

patented (or at least trademarked) magnetohydrodynamic high pressure chiller
long term containment. We have converted them to over 65 thousand smaller

we learned is actually a substrate suspending small amounts of mass monopoles.
It is 5 times denser than iron. It is a superconductor among other myriad uses.
It is the primary component in making Stargates. Finite Quantities.

Kironide
Kironide
is a powerful fusionable fuel, which when ingested causes neurological and
psychiatric issues, but grants temporary telekinetic abilities. Better control
with Darkover Matrix Starstones, but are extremely difficult to get from
Cottman IV.

Tyllium
Tylllium
is Lithium-6, a minority (7.5% occurrence) isotope of Lithium-7. A quality
aneutronic fusionable fuel, favored by the Battlestar Galactica Kolobians.
Lithium-7 is also fusionable, known as Red Mercury, but is not red, and is
actually usually used as a nuclear coolant and neutron absorber.

Cryo Ballistic Void Diamonds.
Diamonds
formed in the lower troposphere of certain gas giants and subjected to
terrestrial planet sized collisions knocking them into their orbital space,
usually into their ring systems. Most diamonds have minute impurities, void
diamonds have substantially less and in fact a commercially significant
percentage of them have voids where normally these non-carbon impurities would
be which makes them idea strata for quantum mechanisms.
