Music of the Geminga Sphere

Music of the Geminga Sphere

The music of the Geminga Sphere is diverse. This is only a small sampling:

Lowercase Minimalist Ambient Music, Cyborg Chill.

Vaporwave subgenre of Hypnagogic Pop

Pirate Metal

Kawaii Metal

My first exposure to non traditional music was a friend of mine who was minding her own business inventorying PVC pipe with a bunch of Bolians in the Engineering Bay, and the next thing she knew she found herself in a Donna Summer Cover Band

Music of the Geminga Sphere: Lowercase Minimalist Ambient Music Genre

Cyborg Chill.

Instead of dense catchy overwhelming beats and compositions of contemporary music, Lowercase Minimalist Ambient Music is about experiencing sounds drowned out by the auditory clutter of the world.

Lowercase is usually rendered as 'lowercase', but it confuses people when I don’t capitalize it.

Lowercase Minimalist Ambient Music is very popular with certain aliens who are trying to acclimate to Trantor cultures.

Lowercase is also popular among certain cyborged and uploaded sentients who are seeking connections with the organic societies they no longer have the same connection to as before their transformations.

Certain Near-Turing, Turing-grade and Trans-sapient Cellarians (AI) are known to download lowercase music, but there is not a lot of feedback from as to their purpose or reaction to it.

Nature Lower Case music digitally amplifies natural sounds often sounds imperceptible to normal hearing, such as anthill activity and the growing and blooming of flowers.

Urban Lower Case music isolates everyday situational sounds such as the handling of paper, or the sounds of a quiet library.

Pioneer of the Lowercase music genre, Steve Roden stated the lowercase music tendencies "…bears a certain sense of quiet and humility; it doesn't demand attention, it must be discovered... It’s the opposite of capital letters—loud things which draw attention to themselves."

Tetsu Inoue, Bernard Gunter, Steve Roden and Alva Noto are currently popular proponents of the art form, but Kim Cascone, Tetsu Inoue, Bhob Rainey, Richard Chartier, Squat Cobbler, T.C. Raymond, Baby's First Crackpipe, Tragus Kingdom, Baron de Charlus, Hawksmoor, Catching Bingos, Dermot Murnaghan, Ctrl+z, Sally Webster, The Ex-Snooker Players, Cormorant Binbag, Dual Carriageway, Fungus (featuring Enda Kenny), Gaz Top, Two Helen Backs, Canadian Hello, and Medium-Sized Carmine have all made significant and meaningful contributions to the lowercase movement.

Trente Oiseaux, 12k, and Raster-Noton are music labels which prominently features lowercase music movement.

Music of the Geminga Sphere - Vaporwave subgenre of Hypnagogic Pop

Vaporwave is a form of mood music that is a satire of consumerism with surreal and nostalgic moods and tones.

Vaporwave is very popular in the Trantor hipster enclaves, who want to passive-aggressively rebel against the consumerist culture of Trantor, while not so secretly being nostalgic about consumer trends of the past.

Vaporwave has a foundation of retro pop music, with heavy doses of retro pop culture samplings, samplings of smooth jazz, elevator music, R&B and corporate lounge music, then uses pitch shifting and looping to create a distorted sound.

Vaporwave evolved from Chillwave, a previously popular moderate tempo faded dreamy retro-pop with escapist lyrics, psychedelic and lo-fi DIY aesthetics such as harmonic distortion and 'analogue warmth', and using effects processing such as reverb and vintage synthesizers.

Chillwave, Vaporwave, Glo-fi, and their related microgenres are all subgenres of Hypnagogic Pop, which draws heavily on nostalgia and cultural memory of music popular entertainment and older recording technology.

Music of the Geminga Sphere, Pirate Metal

For some people, every day in September 19th, Interstellar Talk Like A Pirate Day, namely Pirates.

Interstellar Talk Like A Pirate Day is apparently not recognized as an official holiday in the Orion Syndicate, Orion Union, Orion Colonies or the Orion Confederation. For some reason, even Orion pirates are a little touchy about the subject.

The lesson is not to make cultural assumptions based upon rented Orion Booty Call Holo’s. Inquire and experiment cautiously.

Not to be overshadowed by the Feast Days of Alonso de Orozco Mena, Emilie de Rodat, Goeric of Metz, Januarius, Our Lady of La Salette, Theodore of Tarsus, The Feast of Trophimus, Sabbatius, and Dorymedon, or The Feast of San Gennaro, Interstellar Talk Like a Pirate Day is widely in many space ports in the Geminga Sphere and beyond.

Pirates, the original metalheads, so metal that they were metal hundreds of years before heavy metal music even existed.

Pirate Metal combines Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal, Folk Metal, with the inaccuracies of traditional pirate mythos, sea shanties, and folk ballads associated with seafaring, but still includes concertina’s (accordions), fiddles, bagpipes, and even mandolins.

Apparently songs heavily laden with pirate jargon about buried treasure, drinking rum, wenching, kidnapping landlubbers, and other traditional pirate pastimes (in no particular order of preference) never grows old, especially among pirates.

Pirate Metal meets the Gliese Moiety of Worlds standards for 'true' music, which according the Comtessa Patricia de Chenier must include at least 2 of 3 of accordions, fiddles, or bagpipes.

Some are quite the clever ditties, quite the toe tappers and surprisingly danceable.

While Space Pirate Metal has yet to emerge to have a galactic fanbase, Pirate Metal still pleases the traditional pirate demographic and those who romanticise about it.

Music of the Geminga Sphere: Kawaii Metal

Kawaii metal (also known as idol metal, cute metal, or kawaiicore) is a musical genre that blends elements of heavy metal and J-pop. A typical kawaii metal composition involves combining the instrumentation found in various types of heavy metal music with J-pop melodies and a Japanese idol aesthetic. Kawaii metal's lyrical topics are often less aggressive than those of other metal genres.

The Japanese girl group Babymetal is often credited with the creation and success of kawaii metal. Although Dazzle Vision and Aldious came out beforehand, but BabyMetal was the group when the term was coined.

The Kawaii metal genre was defined as a "mixture of varying genres including pop, rock, heavy metal, electronic dance music, industrial and symphonic death metal. derivative of J-pop and various extreme metal genres, namely "speed metal, power metal, black metal, and industrial metal", consisting of "sugary pop melodies painted liberally over thrash metal" with songs containing generous helpings of angry guitar and undancably fast breakbeats, while the girls squeak about 'bubble ball fever' and chewing gum.

"Saccharine pop with heavy metal growling" and "hard rock with sugary sweet pop hooks" describes the differing lyrical perspective between the kawaii metal and other metal genres. Kawaii metal songs offer a perspective often missing from the hyper-masculine, aggressive lyrics usually present in most of the metal genre's hits with lyrics about pop music topics like "kittens, chocolate, and fun at the mall".

The Babymetal song "Gimme Chocolate", is actually about wanting to eat chocolate.

When I first heard these girls I was convinced it was a Romulan Cultural Infiltration Propaganda Project, but apparently they are genuinely just a bunch of silly teenage girls being cute and metal.

Kawai metal comes from J- Idol metal, a genre of music whereby pop idols, usually young girls, front a heavy metal band and sing heavy metal type songs, though potentially still about pop music topics like kittens, chocolate, and fun, but sometimes karate and parasites, but in the cutest way possible with angry guitar.

Band members typically start between 14 and 16 years old. Death Rabbits started with members who were 11, 12, and 13, a fact that is exponentially creepier when you consider their fan base are headbanging single men with corrective lenses and bad skin who live in places with schoolgirl-panty vending machines.

Not to suggest that Babymetal fans of pedophile, but it comes from a place where men pay for schoolgirl walking dates and where hypersexualized schoolgirls dress as sailors. For some reason no one questions a subculture of oversexualized schoolgirls dressed as sailors fiening innocent affectations, but with J-Pop, for some reason people are not sure whether it's dirty or not. Marketing genius or the most remarkable dumb luck.

The song "Karate" is about fighting, but in a cute way like "Let's fight on even if we get sad". Japanese schoolgirl fights sounds intense, intense enough that you get sad and maybe can't get up, in a weird Muppet Babies kind of way. Cirque Du Soleil guy doesn't know what he's up against. Like the entire genre, the song merged of horror and unbearably cute weirdly childish imagery. It's definitely a big part of the entertainment industry.

I am not going to expend any mental effort to try to understand the appeal of Deadlift Lolita, an Australian Kawaii Metal Cross Dressing Professional Wrestler crossover. What marketing analyst at a recording label determined there was a market niche for that?
